In general the ancient Chinese medical texts cite that it enters the stomach, spleen, and kidney. Furthermore Potato is considered to be neutral in temperature. The flavor is sweet.

It is not advised to eat sprouted or green potatoes because they are slightly toxic.

For ulcer pain or constipation blend raw potato juice and mix with a small amount of honey. Take two tablespoons every morning on an empty stomach. For eczema of the damp type that is exuding, apply raw potato locally with gauze. Change every three hours. For genital eczema repeat for six days. For swelling make a tea from grated potato and cucumber.[22]
