Mung Beans are specifically good for damp-heat and can also help to relieve summer heat[22].

In general the ancient Chinese medical texts cite that they enter the Stomach and Heart. Like all legumes listed in the beans category the flavor of Mung beans is sweet, and they are considered to be very cool in temperature.

Mung beans help to counteract edema in the lower extremities and may be helpful for conditions such as diabetes, dysentery, heatstroke, dehydration, food poisoning, and carbuncles. For summer heat make a soup from mung beans, barley, and rice. For hives and heat related skin lesions make mung bean juice in a blender and drink raw. For breast abscess and boils take two tablespoons of mung bean powder in warm water twice daily. [22]
