Rice bran may help with mild edema in legs and feet, and it contains high levels of vitamin b which may help with symptoms of beriberi (swelling caused by vitamin b deficiency). Rice bran may also help to lower cholesterol. Rice bran is removed when brown rice is milled to produce white rice.

To treat hypertension and high cholesterol add rice bran to a grain dish every day for at least 2 months.[2]
