The Tao of Nutrition mentions that lotus seed is neutral and sweet and helps to astringe and tonify. It may be helpful for kidney weakness with frequent urination, involuntary seminal emission, and/or diarrhea [22].
For frequent urination with involuntary seminal emission or diarrhas cook lotus seeds and cubes of sweet potato in a rice porridge. To make a delicious nutritive tonic boil lotus seeds, adzuki beas, and pearled barley with just a little honey. [22]
