In general the ancient Chinese medical texts cite that it enters the Stomach, Heart, and Urine Bladder. The flavor of Watermelon is sweet, and it is considered to be cold in temperature.
Watermelon can help to resolve heat related sores on lips such as 'fever blisters', quench thirst, relieve irritability, and difficult urination. Since it regulates water, it may also be helpful for conditions related to dampness and heat such as jaundice and edema. Contraindications: Watermelon should not be used with cold conditions, excessive urination, or weakness of the stomach [22]. Watermelon seeds are difficult to digest which can cause the stomach to produce excessive amounts of acid.
