Chinese prunes are made from half ripened plums and are more sour than traditional prunes, making them helpful to astringe the qi of the lungs and intestines, as well as being helpful to stop diarrhea.

For prevention and/or treatment of dysentery, brew prune tea and drink before meals on an empty stomach. For intestinal worms drink a tea with prunes and black pepper. For summer heat with irritability drink prune juice daily until symptoms resolve. [22]
