Cooking Instructions: Calls for 1 cup sesame seeds and 1/2 tablespoon of salt. Wash and soak sesame seeds for 6-8 hours. Dry roast the seeds in a skillet over medium heat until they are golden brown and begin to pop. Grind the seeds with a mortar and pestle, until each seed is half crushed. Store in a closed glass jar. Treats Eastern: Use more black sesame to benefit the kidney/bladder, and more white sesame to benefit the lung/large intestine. Sesame tonifies Blood, Yin, and Jing while a little salt tonifies the kidney. Treats Western: Sesame seeds are rich in essential nutrients like calcium, magnesium, and zinc, supporting bone health and immune function. Their antioxidants protect against cell damage and inflammation, reducing the risk of chronic diseases. Sesame seeds |
