Cooking Instructions: You will need 12 ounces cabbage, 8 ounces fennel, 12 ounces carrot, and 4 ounces potato, 1 ounce butter, 2 teaspoons aniseed, 2 pints water, and 1 teaspoon miso. Chop all vegetables. Melt the butter in the bottom of the pot and slow cook the vegetables in it. Add 2 pints water and simmer for 20 minutes or until soft. Treats Eastern: Cabbage in this recipe cools the digestive system, nourishes blood, and soothes the liver. The fennel bulb and aniseed stimulate and warm the digestion, helping to remove stagnation of the middle jiao. Treats Western: Ulcerative digestive conditions, slow digestion |
