Jin Gui Shen Qi Wan - 金匱腎氣丸 - Rehmannia 8 Formula - Kidney Qi Pill from the Golden Cabinet

formula: Granules

Cooking Instructions: Mix the granules with hot water and stir vigorously to dissove. Note: This recipe approximates the percentages used in the Evergreen Herbs formula. Actual percentages may vary according to manufacturer and practitioner preferences.

Treats Eastern: A kidney yin and yang tonic that tonifies kidney qi rather than yin or yang specifically. The yang of the body drives the functional transformation of water in the body, directing the pure upward and turbid downward. If the kidney is unable to transform qi and move water there will be urinary difficulty and edema. The water and qi may also rebel upward causing panting and irritability leading to difficult lying down.

Treats Western: Low back pain, weakness of lower extremities, cold sensation in lower half of body, tenseness is lower abdomen, pale swollen tongue with thing white and moist coating. An empty or frail pulse that is submerged and faint at the proximal position.
